After America cast a whopping 10 million votes on Wednesday night, contemporary dancer AdeChike Torbert was eliminated last night on So You Think You Can Dance, leaving Kent, Robert, and Lauren to duke it out in next week’s season finale. Although the judges had absolutely no say in the elimination this week, Mia Michaels thinks America got it right. Keep reading to hear what AdeChike thinks about making the top four and what the rest of the judges think about his elimination…

It was certainly a close race to determine the top three dancers on this season of So You Think You Can Dance. After 10 million votes were received on Wednesday night, the difference between the top four dancers was only a few percent. Sadly, contemporary dancer AdeChike Torbert was eliminated after a rough night on Wednesday where he received harsh criticism for his Afro-jazz and contemporary routines.

The news shocked resident judge Mia Michaels, but she thinks it was the best decision. “I was surprised because his voting has been high. America loves him,” Mia Michaels said.  “But I think America got it right.” Ultimately though, Mia Michaels has confidence that AdeChike Torbert will go on to do great things.  “He’s a warrior, and his tenacity has gotten him really far,” she said. “And I think because he is a warrior, he’ll be great in anything he chooses to do.”

Mia’s fellow judge, Adam Shankman, agreed with the way America voted as well.  “I think it went the right way,” he said. “He doesn’t lose himself in the number … with him I just feel tension.”

For AdeChike himself, the elimination wasn’t too much of a shock. “I’m not surprised,” he told People magazine. “This journey has shaped who I am right now.” Although he had a difficult night on Wednesday, AdeChike is thrilled that he had the chance to work with his idol, choreographer/dancer Desmond Richardson. “I’m glad I got to leave the show doing a number that meant a lot to me,” AdeChike said. “To work with him was a dream come true and an absolute blessing.”

On next week’s season finale, Kent, Robert, and Lauren will compete for the title of America’s Favorite Dancer. Who do you think will walk away with the victory?

Mia Michaels and Nigel Lithgo gave very negative criticism throughout the whole season. Some was fair but some was unwarranted and down right mean and biggoted. Mia Michaels negatively compared Adechike to Alex, which you shouldn’t do to anybody and Nigel applauding one other contestant for putting their own personality into a routine, but when Adechike did the same thing he was critisized for it. You might not be involved in the final voting,(acually I think you are)but you know your comments will effect the viewers voting.
