America’s Got Talent: Evolution of Dance, Quick Change and YouTube Results!

August 11, 2010 07:03 PM by Candace Young

Tonight in Hollywood, it’s time for the YouTube Special results! Last night, twelve finalists who auditioned only online performed live on America’s Got Talent‘s on NBC! Nick Cannon explains that the four acts moving on to the semi-finals will be revealed tonight – three by America’s votes and one decided by the judges – Piers Morgan, Howie Mandel, and Sharon Osbourne.  Read on to find out which acts will move from YouTube to the semi-finals!

First to join Nick onstage are Pup (the dog who plays accordion), Pizza Patt (pizza tosser), Austin Anderson (mechanic/comedian), and Maestro Alexander Bui (prodigy classical pianist). Sharon has no idea who will be put through. Nick announces that America has voted and the act moving forward is…Maestro Alexander Bui!  I was with Sharon last night (she said he was boring), but it’s really no surprise. Piers thinks it was a no-brainer.

Quick Change, viral superstars from the first season of America’s Got Talent, are back to perform live tonight. They appear onstage and the woman does six dress changes and adds polka dots before the man changes from a blue to white suit. The woman then changes again, to purple, and then a rainbow dress to finish! Amazing!

Internet sensation, Evolution of Dance, is the next to perform live. He does The Twist, YMCA, Ice Ice Baby, U Can’t Touch This, Jump On It, London Bridge (Fergie), and Stanky Leg! Sweet!

Dylan Plummer (jump roper), Dan Sperry (dark magician), and Booker Forte (hip hop dancer) are called to the stage to learn their fate.  The second act going to the semi-finals after the nationwide vote is…Dan Sperry! When his name is called, Howie runs up into the audience!  Great choice by America – I can’t wait to see what he’s got in store for Sharon and Piers!

Lin Yu Chun, who is a YouTube sensation known for his rendition of a Whitney Houston song, is in Hollywood to sing I Will Always Love You tonight – it’s his first live performance.  He does a great job! With the help of a translator he thanks everyone who has clicked on his clips online for making his dream come true.

Ryan Rodriguez (dancer/acrobatic) and Jackie Evancho (little opera singer) are asked to come to the stage to join Nick Cannon.  The act moving on to the next round, as if there is any doubt, is Jackie Evancho!  Howie says everyone is talking about her, but many people have asked if it’s really her voice! Jackie sings a few notes to prove it’s coming out of her!

PLUtonic (a cappella group),  Cam Hodges (pop singer), and Kristina Young (country singer) join Nick on the stage to find out whether they’ll go on or go home.  Based on America’s votes, the act leaving the competition is…PLUtonic.  That was predictable. Now the judges must decide between Cam and Kristina.

Howie is proud of both singers, but says he has to go with his gut, which tells him the one with the most star potential is Cam!  Sharon thinks that Kristina is very pliable as an artist, and so she chooses her!  Piers says he has to take a bet on which one of them will deliver better than last night, and that is…Kristina!  I’m surprised as I felt Cam was a shoo-in.  That said,  I enjoyed Kristina’s performance last night.

Next week on American’s Got Talent it’s the Wildcard show where twelve acts get one more shot at making it!
