On July 30th, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, star ofÂ Jersey Shore, was arrested in Seaside Heights, New Jersey for being drunk in public. On Wednesday, at a hearing relating to the arrest, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was charged withÂ disorderly conduct and creating a public nuisance, as well as being annoying to people on a beach. Yes, it turns out that being annoying is a crime in New Jersey. That explains why nearly all their resident have rap sheets.
At the hearing on Wednesday, a lawyer for Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi entered not guilty pleas for each one of the charges. Regardless of the outcome, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi should be able to avoid serving any real jail time. The maximum punishment she faces for being convicted of all three crimes is a fee of $2,000. Her lawyer believes her clean record will result in a maximum fine of $500.
The Jersey Shore star says the arrest made her feel “really bad” and taught her a lesson. “I’m definitely going to stop drinking during the daytime,” she said recently. “And now when I go out, I only have a couple drinks.”
