As the fashion director for Marie Claire magazine and a longtime judge on Project Runway, Nina Garcia certainly knows a thing or two about fashion. Now, she’s putting her knowledge to good use in a new fashion how-to guide to help readers choose the right outfit for any occasion. Take it from Tim Gunn: ”We must all listen to Nina Garcia,” he says. “Sharp and genuine, her advice can make or break an outfit.” Keep reading for more details on Nina Garcia’s fashion advice in her new book…

If you long to have the fashion know-how of Project Runway judge, Nina Garcia, you’re in luck! The Marie Claire fashion director released her fourth fashion guidebook titled Nina Garcia’s Fashion Look Book: What To Wear for Every Occasion earlier this month. The book provides readers with practical advice and tips for making great fashion choices, regardless of the circumstances.

There isn’t an event or occasion that goes uncovered in Nina Garcia’s new book. She provides wardrobe suggestions for job interviews (“chic, modern take on the classic suit”), first dates (a tailored dress or jeans and a v-neck), shopping excursions (jeans, camisole, and light jacket or sweater), jury duty (“dress as you would for a casual workday”), and everything in between.

Ultimately, Nina Garcia’s new fashion advice book seeks to help women embrace their own personal style, make do with the clothing they own, and be confident in their duds. The Project Runway judge says fashion confusion is centered around fear. ”Fear of breaking the ‘fashion rules,’ fear of violating some long-forgotten tradition, or the basic fear of looking bad,” she says. “Style is about fun. True style is not about having a closet full of expensive and beautiful things — it is instead about knowing when, where, and how to utilize your collection.”

Nina Garcia’s Fashion Look Book: What To Wear for Every Occasion is available at bookstores now!
