Last night on Masterchef on FOX we all watched as one by one Slim Huynh, Tracy Nailor and Jake Gandolfo became the latest victims of Gordon Ramsay‘s chopping block with the help of Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich of course. We had a few moments to sit down and talk with these three wonderful people this morning and get their thoughts on the show. Keep reading for all the delectable details!
Slim Huynh, Tracy Nailor and Jake Gandolfo were all very thankful to have the opportunity to compete on Masterchef on FOX as well as getting to work with Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich. Here is what these three down to earth personalities had to share with us!
RTVM: Please tell us about your experience on Masterchef.
Slim Huynh: It was wonderful, but I was not expecting to go home so soon. But then again, you don’t ever enter a competition thinking you won’t win, that is the reason you enter it. I’ve never been a romantic person though, so if there was a time to go home this was the perfect time for me.
Tracy Nailor: I agree it was an awesome experience, one that I will carry with me forever. I’ve made so many friends with such amazing people, and we are all bound by this love and passion for cooking. You know, when I auditioned for Masterchef, I had no idea about the prize and a cookbook until I got there and Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich filled us in. For me it was simply my love of cooking that made me audition.
Jake Gandolfo: It was an awesome and amazing experience. I learned so much and it has taken me so much farther than I ever imagined.
RTVM: Can you share your thoughts on Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich?
Tracy Nailor: They are all awesome, let’s see. I feel like Graham Elliot is a big teddy bear. He is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.
Slim Huynh: I completely agree about Graham Elliot. He is always the one to give some sort of positive feedback, even if it is just saying that your dish is pretty, he is always so positive and reminds me of a big teddy bear as well.
Tracy Nailor: And Gordon Ramsay, well what can I say, he is awesome. Gordon is wonderful, he is a great mentor and he always gives it to your straight with no sugar coating. Then there is Joe Bastianich who comes off as more stern than the others. Everyone on the show knows I had the biggest crush on Joe Bastianich…..he is very tough, but he also has a softer side to him.
RTVM: So what can we expect from the three of you in the future?
Jake Gandolfo: Well I just launched a private catering company called custom culinary concept and you can find us at scculinary.com. We are doing good all around California thus far and I hope it continues. I am not doing construction anymore as a mainstream, but I will do it for novelty reasons if asked.
Slim Huynh: I am going back to school to get my bachelor’s degree and then I will going to pastry school to learn baking and desserts since is that is not one of my strong points. I don’t even know how to make a cupcake [giggles]. One day I hope to launch “Slim’s Cheesecakes”. That is my goal and dream and I will not stop working at it until I get there.
Tracy Nailor: I am going to keep cooking and baking. I’d love to have my own cookbook and cooking show some day. It will be all Tracy all day [laughing].
RTVM: Is there anywhere that your fans can keep up with you?
Jake Gandolfo: You can keep up with at my website scculinary.com.
Slim Huynh: I am on facebook, just look up Slim Huyhn.
Tracy Nailor: facebook here also, just look for Tracy Nailor, I would love to connect with all of you.
Thank you so much and good luck to Slim, Tracy and Jake! Be sure to tune in next week to Masterchef on FOX on Wednesday at 8 pm EST for another 2 hours of cooking fun!
