The recent resignation of Ellen Degeneres from American Idol left alot of empty seats at the judges table. Luckily, we are finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel, as Randy Jackson is coming back for another season! Keep reading to hear the current news!

The confirmation of Randy Jackson still leaves a few openings, and rumor has it that Jennifer Lopez is extremely close to locking a deal as well with the hit reality show. Sources from the show tell E! news that none of the other spots have been filled, as rumors of the addition of Lopez, who is still in very lengthy negotiations and Aerosmith front-man Steven Tyler, who has also not been confirmed for the show.

A staffer from the hit show also added that the itinerary for the shows auditions and places has not been set yet, and won’t be until the judging lineup has been completed. The new season is set to premiere in January 2011. With all of the changes to the show, it will be interesting to see the show without Simon!
