September 04, 2010 01:00 PM by Jennifer

Another chapter in the ever changing book of American Idol has closed. Kara DioGuardi has officially left the famed competition show! Is she leaving on good terms? Keep reading to find out!

DioGuardi tells Access Hollywood, “I felt like I won the lottery when I joined ‘American Idol‘ two years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave ‘Idol. I am very proud to have been associated with ‘American Idol’ – it has truly been an amazing experience. I look forward to my next challenge, and want to thank everyone who has supported me. All the best to everyone on Season 10!”

Although her statement seems to suggest that it was her decision to leave the show,  there is speculation that she may have been fired from the show.  There’s no word yet on what the future holds for Dioguardi, who spent two seasons with the show. She joins Simon Cowell and Ellen Degeneres as the judges who will not be returning this season, and their replacements have still yet to to be confirmed.

The announcement on DioGuardi, who is also a songwriter,  comes one day after Randy Jackson locked in his deal for another season with the show.  Various rumors are flying about who the new judges will be, but none have been confirmed as of yet.
