Not only is Kelly Liken busy preparing for the finale of Top Chef on Bravo, but somewhere she has found time to team up with some elementary students to raise money for an educational program. How could Kelly possible run a fundraiser? With her delicious meals of course! Continue on for all the tasty details!
On August 20th, Top Chef‘s Kelly Liken teamed up with four elementary school students to create a four course dinner fundraiser to benefit the Vail Valley Foundation’s Sowing Seeds educational pilot greenhouse program. Sowing seeds allows students to plant and care for their own gardens in a local greenhouse. The program helps children understand the origin of food and teaches them responsibility of caring for food as well…..something that we all know Kelly excels in!
Local couples gathered at the fundraiser dinner to dine on gourmet meals which were cooked by Kelly Liken with the assistance of the students, who also served the appetizers. The president of the Vail Valley Foundation commented “We are very excited to have had the opportunity to join forces with Bravo‘s Kelly Liken to make this opportunity a reality. We are well aware that many valuable life lessons can be learned outside of the traditional classroom and the success of the program and this dinner are a great testament to that fact.”
