For the 15th season of the CW’s America’s Next Top Model, the show is making a genuine effort to move from commercial to high fashion modeling. How? By offering up a six-to-eight page spread in Italian Vogue to the winner.
This is the first time the magazine has partnered with the show. Italian Vogue is considered the pinnacle of high fashion.Â Furthermore, the influential editor of the magazine,Â Franca Sozzani, will appear on the show as a judge, working with Tyra Banks. Previous spreads have been in Seventeen, Elle andÂ Marie Claire.
“It’s very strange because usually I see the book or talk to the photographer and they show me their photos,” Sozzani told the Los Angeles Times. “When they’re in front of you, it’s different because it’s an emotional approach for the girls. They cry. So it’s more difficult.”
The 15th season of America’s Next Top Model premieres Wednesday, September 8 at 8/7c.
