America’s Next Top Model: Plus Size Model Toccara Jones Walks in New York Fashion Week

September 10, 2010 08:00 AM by Rebecca Ford

Toccara Jones was the outspoken, plus-size model who competed on the third season of America’s Next Top Model. Now, she’s walking the runway at this week’s New York Fashion Week.

Jones will be walking in the OneStopPlus.com show on Sept. 15 during New York Fashion Week. The shopping portal caters to women sizes 12W to 44W. The show will feature plus size models exclusively.

Along with Toccara, plus-size model Lizzie Miller will also be walking in the show. Miller was featured on the cover of Glamour Magazine in 2009.

“We wanted to focus on and validate the 62 percent of American women who can relate to these sizes,” Nancy LeWinter, editorial director of OneStopPlus, told TODAYshow.com. “Literally, it’s about time.”

Although she did not win the show, Jones was vocal about the difficulties for a plus size model. After the show, she signed with Wilhelmina Models as a plus-size model. She’s appeared on the cover of Be, Black Hair magazine, Braids magazine, The Next Level Magazine (November 2005), Black Men magazine, and King magazine. She’s also visited other seasons of America’s Next Top Model.
