Project Runway: Christian Siriano’s Fierce New York Fashion Week Show

September 10, 2010 05:24 AM by Rebecca Ford

Project Runway season four winner Christian Siriano has always been known for his flair and pizzazz. His fashion show at this week’s New York Fashion Week had just as much glamour as his personality, and brought the audience to their feet.

Christian Siriano’s over-the-top looks and “fierce” catchphrase made him one of the most memorable on the show. At New York Fashion Week this year, he showed 40 new looks. From the glitzy red, tulle one-shouldered piece to the more subdued white kimono shirt dress paired with a leather double-buckle belt, the looks were quite an adventure.

Siriano said he drew inspiration from Africa, India and China for his collection. His one-sleeved cocktail dresses were a hit with the audience. And everyone’s a sucker for a big, glamorous gown!

The show took “fashionably late” to a whole new level, and started more than an hour late. But the audience forgave him, and after the 40 looks, they gave Siriano a standing ovation.

There’s been plenty of Project Runway during New York Fashion Week, with this season’s finale taking place earlier on Thursday with guest judge Jessica Simpson.
