Last time FOX‘s Masterchef judge Graham Elliot spoke to the Chicago Tribune it was all about the show. This time, Graham gets personal as he dishes about his family and his plans for the new restaurant, as well as his new hair! Keep reading to hear what Graham had to say!
In a recent interview with the Chicago Tribune, Masterchef judge Graham Elliot discusses more personal matters such as his family. When asked how a chef manages work and family, Graham replied with “Almost every chef I know has been divorced. They say the first wife is the practice wife.” Graham Elliot, who is actually divorced is expecting his second child in a few weeks with his second wife. He goes on to say “My wife worked at the Peninsula and sheâ€™s very understanding and I really want to be there for the new baby. I have a 3 1/2-year-old from a previous marriage and I was opening Graham Elliot when he was in his first year and it was like, ‘I love you, youâ€™re my son I have to go work now and mommy will take care of you.’ But now itâ€™s, I donâ€™t want to go work today, I want to go play ball with them.”
Next up Graham was questioned about his new restaurant, Grahamwich to which he had to say “We have our permits and weâ€™re building it. It’s just a matter of completing it. A lot of times I speak what I’m feeling and people think it’s already in progress. And then people say, when is it opening. I want to open in LA and DC and we are looking at spaces but it takes time. In the new place, we’ll have eight sandwiches, four snacks and four sodas on tap and two composed soft serves. And like 20 seats.” Lastly and what most of us want to know, Graham answered the question about his newly platinum hair with “It was an impulsive thing. Iâ€™ve only had it for five days and so I wake up and look in the mirror and I’m like, whoa, who is that. Maybe it’s because I moved every two years and every spot I went to I could be somebody different. Whether that is changing my glasses or hair or menus I donâ€™t like to keep doing the same thing.” To read Graham Elliot’s full interview, check out the Chicago Tribune.
