FOX‘s debut season of Masterchef came to close last night as Whitney Miller was crowned the first US Masterchef. We had a chance to chat with Whitney today about her experience on the show as well as her future plans. Keep reading for all the details!
Grab a cup of coffee and come and read what the sweet southern winner of the very first season of Masterchef on FOX wanted to share with her fans.
RTVM: How does it feel to be the first ever US Masterchef?
Whitney Miller: It feels great. It was an amazing experience and I am thrilled that I proved Gordon Ramsay wrong. I proved that age is just a number and I have grown so much as a cook since starting the competition.
RTVM: Do you really cook for your family every day?
Whitney Miller: Yes I do, I have ever since I was in high school.
RTVM: What was your favorite moment on the show?
Whitney Miller: I’d have to say when I beat Sharone in the souffle challenge. Prior to that I had never made a souffle and Gordon kept yelling at me because I didn’t taste it first, etc.
RTVM: How did you manage to get that chicken cooked so quickly last night?
Whitney Miller: By the grace of God. Immediately after I dropped the first piece, instead of freaking out I remembered I had another piece there, so I breaded it and got it frying as quickly as I could.
RTVM: So what are you going to do with the money you won?
Whitney Miller: I would love to travel the world and taste food from other countries. Then I can bring it back and try and recreate it with my southern twist.
RTVM: Can you tell us about your cookbook?
Whitney Miller: Well it’s either going to be based on the “pastry princess” with nothing but desserts or it will be “Southern Food & Hospitality with Whitney” which would be taking everyday southern ingredients and turning into something spectacular.
RTVM: Any other future plans?
Whitney Miller: I’d love to have my own cooking show on Food Network one day.
RTVM: Where can your fans keep up with what’s going on with you?
Whitney Miller: I have a facebook fan page, just look me up – Whitney Miller Masterchef.
