The Apprentice: Season Premiere Falls Flat

September 21, 2010 02:25 PM by Lisa Princ

Donald Trump‘s much anticipated return of The Apprentice on NBC fell flat in last week’s season premiere. This season opener where we met sixteen new contestants that Donald Trump immediately put to work had the worst rating of the show ever. Keep reading for all the details!

NBC’s The Apprentice, which once a hugely successful reality series, had one of the worst ratings with a measly 1.5 adults 18-49 rating with 4.572 million viewers for a season premiere. This was a huge drop and disappointment from last season’s Celebrity Apprentice and The Apprentice barely beat its few broadcast competitors: The CW’s low rated “The Vampire Diaries” and “Nikita.”

Want to know what’s even worse for Donald Trump’s Apprentice on NBC? A repeat of MTV’s Jersey Shore posted a higher adults 18-49 rating and was only about a million viewers shy of the total audience count. I have to wonder about that one though as maybe folks were tuning into Jersey Shore to check out Dancing With The Stars competitor Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino before the dancing competition started? In any event if the ratings don’t go up soon, I doubt we will ever see another season of The Apprentice.

Remember to tune in next week for another new episode of The Apprentice on NBC!
