On last night’s battle of the ice cream episode of The Apprentice on NBC, you may have noticed a few Perry ice cream trucks along the way. That is because Donald Trump hired the ice cream company to star in the show which gave them some national exposure. Keep reading for all the details!
NBC’s The Apprentice has partnered with advertisers before and this was no exception. As the contestants rushed to try and sell as many of Perry’s ice cream bars as possible, the company gained national exposure in turn helping their newly expanded market in the area. Perry’s spokesperson, excited about the exposure said “Partnering with a popular television show such as ‘The Apprentice’ gives us added visibility in our newly expanded markets along with giving our consumers in Western New York a chance to see one of their hometown brands on national TV.”
Mark Burnett Productions, which produces The Apprentice, contacted Perry’s in May about the sponsorship. Perry’s spokesperson went on to share “They were looking for an east coast based ice cream company to partner with them on the episode.” which was perfect for Perry’s as they have never had television exposure before this. As for the actual show, the spokesperson had to say “We’re proud to support this season’s efforts in giving not only the contestants job opportunities, but also to inspire viewers who may have been affected by the recent economic recession.” about The Apprentice on NBC.
