After this week’s crazy breakdown by cheftestant Seth Caro, we’d all like to know a little more about what makes this guy tick. Is he just a ticking time bomb? Will there be more breakdowns?
The casting team for Top Chef: Just Desserts are probably throwing themselves a big ol’ party this week because their decision to bring chef Seth Caro on the show is really paying off. In this week’s episode, Seth breaks down into tears during the quickfire, gets in a heated argument during the elimination challenge and ruins fellow competitor Zac Young’s dish by knocking his chocolate squares to the ground.
After the delicious drama that Seth created this week, we’re all dying to know more about this man. All we learned from the episode is that Seth’s mom is going through some health problems, which makes him very upset.
He’s worked as a pastry chef at Nobu, Chanto, Perilla and Atria. He currently resides in New York City. It’s pretty clear that he’s got talent, but sometimes puts too much of it on one plate. He was just a teen when he first worked in a kitchen as a short order cook. His food could be tasty, if he could get his crazy kitchen antics under control.
His MySpace page, which has been deleted, once described him as “Unlikely pastry chef. Admirer of art in all mediums. Sometimes dancer or musician. Often drinking, rarely drunk. Recovering gym rat. Likes to rock the party.”
Clearly, he also like to rock the boat.
