Hell’s Kitchen: Jean Philippe Was Not Fired

September 25, 2010 04:00 PM by Lisa Princ

If you tuned into the season eight premiere of Hell’s Kitchen on FOX, and noticed a familiar face missing, don’t worry because Gordon Ramsay did not fire our beloved Jean Philippe. Keep reading to hear exactly where Jean Philippe is!

You were probably just as worried as I was when the season eight premiere of Hell’s Kitchen on FOX aired on Wednesday and there was no sign of Jean Philippe anywhere. Instead we met newcomer James Lukanik working as Gordon Ramsay’s Maitre D’. Of course rumors starting flying around the web claiming that Jean Philippe was fired, but that is not the case. According to numerous sources, Jean Phillipe, or otherwise known as Gordon Ramsay’s right hand man, is abroad opening up a new restaurant and overseeing things for Chef Ramsay.

Whew, that certainly is a relief. For season eight of Hell’s Kitchen while we will surely miss Jean Philippe and his humor, we will have to adjust to newcomer James Lukanik. Since Gordon Ramsay hired him, we know that Chef Ramsay knows what he is doing, so let’s hope he shows us some humor as well as doing a good job. Until then maybe we will see Jean Philippe in season nine. We can hope, right?

Be sure to tune in next week for an all new episode of Hell’s Kitchen on FOX!

JP has said on the show that he’s known Ramsay for years so it’s entirely possible he’s known James for years as well. Hopefully he picked him at least partly for how his personality will play out on the show.

That is very true Karey! I can’t wait to see how he flourishes on the show…HK’s is a tough place and hopefully he’s up for it :-)

I hope they don’t lose Sous Chef Scott anytime soon :/ He’s the last remaining original other than Ramsay
