With an Emmy loss under their belts, The Amazing Race creators are trying to push the show to the next level. For its 17th season, The Amazing Race will have a new, mysterious game-changer.

The Amazing Race may not have won the Emmy this year, but they are coming back strong with season 17. This season of the show is already shaping up to be a great season, with more women teams competing than ever, and the attack of the watermelon video already going viral.

The creators of The Amazing Race are being pretty tight-lipped about the new addition to the game for season 17, The Express Pass. Even host Phil Keoghan isn’t sharing much.

“This is a tool that teams can use to help themselves stay in the race and it’s something from the beginning that gives them an extra incentive to race really hard right out of the gate,” he told TVGuide.com. “It rewards the team that does well, but unlike the Fast Forward, its impact is not for one leg. It has an effect on the entire race.”

A new pass that affects the entire race is a big deal. We won’t find out the specifics of the Express Pass until the premiere this Sunday, September 26 on CBS.
