Joseph Cerniglia, owner of Campania restaurant which was featured on FOX’s Kitchen Nightmares was found dead on Friday as his body was discovered found floating in the Hudson River. Keep reading for more details!
Campania restaurant which was featured on Kitchen Nightmares on FOX back in 2007 is not going to be the same without chef and owner Joseph Cerniglia. Joseph was found floating in the Hudson River on Friday afternoon according to the NY Police department. Officials are looking at a possible connection to a report of a man jumping from the George Washington Bridge earlier that day, said another NY Police department public information officer. One NYPD officer said on Sunday that a 911 caller had reported seeing a body floating in the river shortly after 2 p.m. Police investigated and Joseph Cerniglia was pronounced dead at the scene. An NYPD harbor boat brought him ashore. According to the same official at 12:50 p.m., a different 911 caller had reported seeing a man jump from the bridge.
Campania survived Gordon Ramsay and Kitchen Nightmares as Joseph Cerniglia had stated after Gordon’s visit “We were very busy, but I couldn’t seem to make a profit. We kept getting deeper and deeper into debt. Our food costs were high, and we couldn’t get our labor costs under control.†in regards to his decision to be on the hit series. He went on to say “Let’s just say I got to see the softer, more nurturing side of Gordon Ramsay.†So after turning his restaurant around, what would cause Joseph to commit suicide if that is even the case? No one has an answer for that yet, but if we hear any more details, we will be sure to share them!
