Undercover Boss: What Is It About Cincinnatti?

September 30, 2010 09:16 AM by Sarah_Monson

CBS’s heart tugging hit show Undercover Boss cannot get enough of Ohio. For the third time this year, the popular CBS show has popped up in Cincinnati filming segments for various episodes. This makes sense, seeing as Cincinnati is one of the biggest markets for reality TV.

According to Cincinnati.com, a local boss of a resort company called Great Wolf Resorts was filmed serving customers for the episode to air this Sunday. From the looks of the promo, it will be a tissue heavy show. (Per usual, right?)

In April, Undercover Boss focused an entire hour on a Cincinnati based Roto-Rooter President and, in March, shot at a local White Castle locations for the show.

A fourth show is coming sometime this fall season starring a Cincinnati-based Chiquita executive.

So, why all the love?

Here’s why “Undercover Boss” loves to shoot in Cincinnati: Ratings here for last Sunday’s season premiere were 62% bigger than the national average. The show was No. 25 last week with a 7 rating and 12% audience share in the national ratings – but did a 11.4 rating and 17% audience share here, second here only to “Desperate Housewives” Sunday (via Cincinnati.com).

Hey, you gotta go where the viewers are, right? Smart move, CBS.
