The Biggest Loser: Emotions Run High And A Visit From Anna Kournikova

October 05, 2010 07:15 PM by Lisa Princ

After last week’s dramatic first weigh in and elimination, The Biggest Loser on NBC is back for another weigh in and elimination tonight! If you think this week will be drama free, you couldn’t be more wrong as even Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels stir up emotions and the contestants get a visit from tennis professional Anna Kournikova. Keep reading for all the details!

After Allie Ishcomer‘s elimination last week, emotions were running high this week on The Biggest Loser on NBC and the emotional breakdowns started when Tina, who felt bad for sending Allie home decided she needed to chat with the other contestants about her feelings. Tina told the others that she wanted to go home and no one could understand why, but it soon came out that she recently planned a family vacation. Shortly after her, Lisa stated that she would be leaving soon as well to take care of Allie as the two had bonded and became close friends.

As soon as Bob Harper got word of this talk, he decided to take matters into his own hands and send all the losers for a three hour workout. Then he had some words with Tina and convinced her that she needed to be on the ranch as much as everyone else and she agreed. Then Jillian Michaels came in and it was her turn to stir up emotions as she was not happy at all with the fact that the girls were almost all below the yellow line last week. After giving the gals a pep talk and a workout, Jillian thought she got through to them.

Next, Ali Sweeney joined the contestants for a special surprise. Ali surprised the contestants with a visit from tennis professional Anna Kournikova. But this visit wasn’t just for fun, this was for yet another workout….by learning tennis this time! This one actually made all the contestants appreciate the intense workout that tennis actually is as most of them thought it was not a tough sport. After Anna Kournikova was done with the losers, Ali next issued their endurance challenge.

For their endurance challenge, they would each be running around filling up containers will tennis balls, one ball at a time trying to eliminate others by filling their containers. When a contestant hit 25 tennis balls, they were eliminated and would lose the chance at immunity at this week’s weigh in. Comically, everyone filled Tina’s container first as they were sending her a message that she needed to work for it this week after her plea to stay last week and saying she wanted to leave earlier. In the end, Frado was the last man standing and had immunity at the weigh in.

Then on The Biggest Loser, Ali Sweeney surprised the contestants will another mid week weigh in and informed them that yet again 8 people would be below the yellow line and up for elimination. So this is how the contestants fared this week at the weigh in:

from 438 lbs to 431 lbs for a total loss of 7 lbs (1.60%)

from 240 lbs to 234 lbs for a total loss of 6 lbs (2.50%)

from 368 lbs to 356 lbs for a total loss of 12 lbs (3.26%)

from 331 lbs to 326 lbs for a total loss of 5 lbs (1.51%)

from 219 lbs to 218 lbs for a total loss of 1 lbs (.46%)

from 232 lbs to 229 lbs for a total loss of 3 lbs (1.29%)

from 340 lbs to 337 lbs for a total loss of 3 lbs (%) * had immunity

from 339 lbs to 329 lbs for a total loss of 10 lbs (2.95%)

from 268 lbs to 261 lbs for a total loss of 7 lbs (2.61%)

from 272 lbs to 267 lbs for a total loss of 5 lbs (1.84%)

From 380 lbs to 369 for a total loss of 11 lbs (2.89%)

from 378 lbs to 366 for a total loss of 12 lbs (3.17%)

from 314 lbs to 306 lbs for a total loss of 8 lbs (2.55%)

from 258 lbs to 252 for a total loss of 6 lbs (2.33%)

from 247 to 243 for a total loss of 4 lbs (1.62%)

After the weigh in, Adam who had the highest percentage of weight loss had the ability to save one person from elimination and after they all pleaded their cases, he chose was Aaron. Aaron pleaded his case prior to Adam about how he needed to lose the weight for his son and it got to Adam’s heart apparently. Next up it was time for the elimination challenge on The Biggest Loser, and Ali gives the remaining seven contestants their challenge: digging through tons of sand to find a metal ring. Each time a ring was found, that person was safe and the rest would move on to the next sand box. In an ironic turn of events, both Tina and Lisa were the two who did not find any rings and were up for elimination tonight. Coincidence, or did they do it on purpose?

Emotional but ready to leave, Tina was voted off the ranch tonight and you can’t really blame the contestants after what she pulled earlier. Since her time at the ranch, Tina has lost a total of 60 lbs and is continuing her journey at home with her daughter, who didn’t make it to the show. Tina’s daughter has lost over 80 lbs with the help of her mom. Best of luck to you Tina, we’ll see you again at the finale!
