Fans of American Idol are not the only ones weighing in on new judges, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. Former contestant and American Idol runner-up David Archuleta recently voiced his opinion on the additions and changes to the show.
David Archuleta recently appeared on Live with Regis and Kelly and was asked to give his thoughts on new judges Lopez and Tyler. Said Archuleta, “I think it’s kind of exciting. They’re both very talented. They’ve both worked very hard in their lives to get where they are. I love [that] they’re having a Latina on the judge panel with Jennifer Lopez and then a rocker with Steven Tyler. I think it’ll be cool, because they both have different audiences I think they’ll bring in.”
There is great excitement buzzing about the new additions to the show. Reports have surfaced about tension brewing between Ryan Seacrest and Jennifer Lopez. Also, there are reports that Randy Jackson has taken over Simon Cowell’s role as the mean judge.
Archuleta was appearing on the show to perform live and promote his own new album ‘The Other Side of Down.’ Kelly Ripa asked if he could envision himself as a guest judge responsible for critiquing people. He responded, “I don’t know. I don’t know if I’d be the best judge. The problem is I talk too much without getting to the point.” While Archuleta may not deem himself a good judge, it sounds as though he is excited about the new show format and, at the very least, tuning in as a fan.
