After last night’s prom disaster on Hell’s Kitchen on FOX, we watched as Emily Kutchins and Melissa Doney became the latest victims of Gordon Ramsay‘s chopping block. In an exclusive interview, these ladies told us all about their experience on the show. Keep reading to hear what they had to say!

Both Melissa Doney and Emily Kutchins of Hell’s Kitchen were so much fun to talk to as they dished on their experience on the show, the other contestants and Chef Ramsay. Here is what they wanted to share with the viewers and their fans!

RTVM: Sorry to see you both go home last night, where do you think you went wrong?

Melissa Doney: I just couldn’t get my mojo going, I was not performing to my normal expectations. It was the experience of a lifetime though, not many people can say that have done this. And at the very least we didn’t get sent home the first week, or the second week. We came pretty far.

Emily Kutchins: I am a catering chef, so I am not used to working in a high pressure kitchen, but I wanted to prove something to myself and I did. It such a great learning experience, I don’t regret it at all.

RTVM: Do you ladies think Sabrina should have gone home last night and is she really as obnoxious as she comes across on Hell’s Kitchen?

Melissa Doney: You know, when Gordon Ramsay said she was the best of the worst, we all kind of looked at one another and shook our heads in disagreement. She really is that bad, it’s not just for television. She’s 22 years old and her lack of knowledge is apparent. She is also lazy, you could see that she never wanted to do prep work and anyone who runs a kitchen knows and is willing to do whatever possible to get the kitchen ready for service.

Emily Kutchins: Yes I agree, it was 24 hours of whining out of Sabrina. Even when I was in the restroom I could hear her whining about something. She was lazy, she didn’t want to help us prep the kitchen for service. Sooner or later Gordon Ramsay will see through her and she will be gone.

RTVM: What are your thoughts on Gordon Ramsay?

Melissa Doney: He is such a great chef with such amazing experience. I will say though that you never talk back to him or interrupt him as Nona did last night. I was constantly yelled at by him, and while it was intimidating I never said a word. It’s painful to stand there and take it, but it’s much worse to try and defend yourself to him. Because of his stature, he is right all the time [laughing].

Emily Kutchins: I agree, he is amazing. He pushes us to push ourselves and be our best. You have to remember that he is teaching the next generation of cooks and on this show he is definitely a teacher.

RTVM: If you could go back and do something over, what would it be?

Emily Kutchins: properly cook crabcakes [laughs]. Honestly, I would not put as much pressure on myself. I was over thinking everything instead of just cooking and being myself. It became too much pressure the harder I tried.

Melissa Doney: I would cook the scallops correctly [laughs]. I would have more confidence in myself and my cooking ability. I was constantly second guessing myself and that got me in to trouble.

RTVM: Do you have any predictions as to who may win Hell’s Kitchen this season?

Melissa Doney: Russell maybe…he has finally found his voice but I am unsure it will take him to victory or not, but he is a strong contender. However at this stage in the competition they are all still learning and getting used to everything there. I do know that it won’t be Sabrina since her conniving is getting older by the minute and her sneakiness is going to get noticed.

Emily Kutchins: I definitely think it is too early to tell. There may be some dark horses in there but we haven’t seen them yet as they are all still learning.

RTVM: What’s next for you ladies?

Melissa Doney: Opportunities hopefully [laughs]. I am hoping future employers will see this and want to hire me. I put myself out there and that says something about me as a person so we will see where it takes me.

Emily Kutchins: I am happy with my current catering job. My mom was hoping this exposure would get me a husband [laughs]. Seriously, I will keep cooking and learning, anything else that comes will be great but I am not planning anything more.

Thank you to both Emily Kutchins and Melissa Doney for chatting with me today, and best of luck to both of you wonderful ladies!

Hmm…don’t think HK is a good reality tv video resume for Melissa. Did she watch her cooking that was aired on the show? They may have edited out the times she cooked well because what they aired was not too pretty, like that pile of unusable scallops. I would think after so many tries, I would even be able to figure out the pan temp, cooking time, flip time, etcetera.
