Bravo’s favorite and most abused housekeeper from Flipping Out, Zoila, is getting an honorary award in her name. A columnist in a newspaper in Orange County, California decided to declare October 5th as Viva Zoila Day! And, have a contest in the hardcore housekeeper’s honor.
Zoila, the 62-year-old Nicaraguan immigrant who regularly gets abused by Jeff Lewis on Flipping Out, is quite a remarkable lady. So remarkable, in fact, that she’s getting an award named in her honor.
So, what do you have to do to win this award?
It’s easy, you just have to be the hardest working person you know.
Yvette Cabrera, columnist for the Orange County Register, loves Flipping Out so much that she tracked Zoila down to find out what makes her work so hard for such a evil man. She’s survived working for Jeff since 1999, long before her Flipping Out fame.
“Dios, mÃo! I didn’t know what a devil he was.” Still Zoila says of her hard working boss,”He’s a role model to me.”
But this award isn’t about Jeff Lewis, it’s about Zoila! And she’s going to help pick the winner of the first ever Zoila Award.
To submit a candidate for the Zoila Award, you need to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and explain why, in a few paragraphs, you are the hardest working person you know.
Zoila and Yvette will look over the best candidates and select a winner, who will get a profile in the paper and maybe a housecleaning from Zoila herself. Kidding, but you might be able to talk to her on the phone.
