Season 7 Project Runway winner Seth Aaron Anderson’s highly anticipated solar inspired runway show in finally here. We told you last month about this fashion line with a twist set to happen at the biggest solar-industry trade show in the Americas. And today is the day! He won’t be alone in the Northwest, however. Former Project Runway cast members Jonathan Joseph Peters and Jay and Jay Sario will also be showcasing their first collections since the show.
The edgy, envelope pushing designer created a solar-inspired runway collection to show off a SolarWorld’s sleek black panels, hoping to inspire people to put solar paneling int heir homes (and buy his clothes, no doubt!). If you happen to be in the Portland area today, then you might get a chance to witness his creations first hand, as they will be taking the runway at the sustainable fashion showcase during Portland Fashion Week.
Seth Aaron, who doesn’t have solar paneling in his home, is the first to incorporate high-fashion into solar technology.
I go back a long way with solar power. I remember solar energy being used by tubes for heating swimming pools in California. Now my kids are interested. This fall, my family is moving. We’re planning to install a SolarWorld array on our new roof, of course. My kids – I have a 12-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy – think it’s really cool what I’m doing. They’re very interested. They know more about this environmental stuff than I do. Of course, they know it’s all about their future.
Models will be walking and posing atop an all-black SolarWorld panels that will show off designs in the “Seth Aaron SolarWorld Collection” at Solar Power International, a photovoltaic technology trade show expected to attract more than 25,000 people.
Saturday night’s show will also feature Henderson’s fellow “Project Runway” veterans Jay Sario and Jonathan Joseph Peters. Anderson is definitely the headliner of this event, but the other two designers add clout and prestige, no doubt, which help make Portland Fashion Week a must see event.
I wonder in Heidi Klum will be there.
