While rock stars such as Bret Michaels of Rock of Love and Gene Simmons of Gene Simmons Family Jewels have owned the reality spotlight, E! has announced that they will be airing a new series about the wives of rock stars, Married To Rock.
The four women that will star in the series are: Susan Holmes McKagan, wife of former Guns ‘N Roses bassist Duff McKagan, Etty Farrell, wife of Jane’s Addiction lead singer Perry Ferrell, Josie Stevens, wife of Bill Idol’s guitarist Steve Stevens, and AJ Celi, who is in a relationship with guitarist of the Cult Billy Duffy. The show’s premise is to follow the women around and show how they deal with life in the spotlight.Â
Lisa Berger, executive vice president of programming at E!, recently spoke with the Hollywood Reporter. “So many women have a fantasy about landing a rock star. We’re raising the curtain on the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and showing there’s more to it than the late-night partying, ravaged hotel rooms and jet-set life we’ve all read about. But, of course, there’s all of that, too.”
E! has ordered eight episodes of the series. It will debut on November 7 at 10:30 pm. The first episode will reportedly open with the cast members facing everyday problems such as launching a swimwear line and organizing Lollapalooza. There is no word yet on how prominently the wives’ rock husbands will be featured.
The show is being produced by Bunim-Murray Productions, the same production company that launched the popular Real World series.
