The Amazing Race Preview: Chad And Stephanie Fight In The Arctic

October 15, 2010 12:00 PM by Allyson Wells

This week’s The Amazing Race preview takes the teams away from the African heat to the exact opposite as they will compete in the snowy frozen tundra of the Arctic Circle.  CBS promos the next episode, “The teams head to the Arctic Circle for some dog sledding and snow mobile action.”

Brook and Claire won the second leg of the race, but struggled with a geography challenge and finished in the middle of the teams in the most recent leg.  The preview shows them discussing how they should have brought snow boots.  This team exclaimed, “The ditzy girls take all,” after winning one of the legs.  Full of energy, can these two get by if their air-headedness continues to get in the way?

Last week’s episode featured a very cranky Nick taking out all his frustration on partner and girlfriend, Vicki.  Vicki calmly let Nick berate her for making stupid errors and putting them behind in the race.  Vicki ended up having an asthma attack, which caused Nick to soften and they finished in the middle of the teams as well.  This week’s preview shows another team and couple, Chad and Stephanie, having issues with one another during the race and someone taking a tumble over a cliff in their snow mobile!  Will Chad and Stephanie’s romance survive the cold of the Arctic and beyond the race?

The big storyline of last week involved father and son team, Michael and Kevin.  Kevin had been worried about his father slowing them down as a team.  However, during a medical crisis in which Michael was suffering from extreme heat exhaustion and dehydration, Kevin stepped up and supported his dad, telling him to just to hang in there and finish.  My heart broke when the team was the last to finish, but host Phil Keoghan informed the team that the leg of the race was a non-elimination round.  This week’s episode shows a rejuvenated Michael riding in a dog’s sled and seemingly having the time of his life.  As he is on the sled, he pauses to say, “Oh!  There’s a bear!”  Will Michael and Kevin make the most of their second chance?  Tune in this Sunday to find out how it all plays out on The Amazing Race.
