Former star of The Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky and fiance Roberto Martinez announced after their show wrapped that they wanted to get married immediately. The pair even discussed eloping. Now, Ali has admitted that she and Roberto may have gotten carried away and would like to slow down.
Ali recently told People Magazine that she no longer feels the need to rush into marriage. While attending the MNG by Mango JCPenney Launch in Manhattan on Tuesday she said, “We’re waiting a bit. We really want to make sure we’re doing this right.”
Putting the brakes on their wedding planning might cause some skeptics to wonder about how serious the pair are about one another. However, Ali insists that she and Roberto are still very much in love. “Nothing has changed – we’re still just as happy as we were. When we were finished with the show, we were so excited. We were like, ‘Oh, we’re going to get married right away.’ But if you’re rushing because you’re in love, why rush? Just wait. You’re going to get married any way. We’re both sort of enjoying life.”
While not making wedding plans, Ali and Roberto are settling into their newly decorated home in San Diego. Ali also revealed to People that they are considering wedding venues somewhere on the California coast. “We don’t want to have to travel to our own wedding. We were thinking that maybe we’ll want to get married, then go home for a couple days, relax and then go on our honeymoon. We just came off like a three-month-long honeymoon on The Bachelorette. We were just in Tahiti! We’re tired of traveling like that.”
