The Bachelor Pad star and third-place finisher on Jake Pavelka’s season of The Bachelor, Gia Allemand has been cast in a movie to play screen legend Ava Gardner. Gia took took time away from pursuing Wes Hayden and was reportedly very aggressive about getting the role and took a page from the Godfather to get cast in the movie.Â
According to Zap2it, the biopic is about ‘The Godfather’ star and reported Mafia connection Gianni Russo. Russo says, “It’s a small role. Gia looks a lot like Ava, but it’s really the passion that she had that convinced me to cast her. Forty years ago someone did this for me. They stuck their neck out.”
Gia is very excited about the role and admitted she pursued it. “I was pursuing him to cast me as Ava. After I heard about Mr. Russo signing on a napkin for ‘The Godfather’ at The Palm in Manhattan in 1969, I recited Ava’s whole life to him until he agreed to cast me and then I immediately asked him to write our agreement on a napkin!”
The movie does not yet have a title, but begins filming January 2. The focus of the movie will be Russo’s experiences between the ’50′s to the ’70s, when he supposedly worked with mob figure Frank Costello and was chummy with Frank Sinatra. Frank Sinatra was married to Ava Gardner in the ’50′s. In ‘The Godfather,’ Russo played Connie Corleone’s abusive husband, Carlo Rizzi.
While the role is reportedly just a small role, sometimes there are no small roles. Perhaps Gia can turn her screen turn into something big!
