Jon Gosselin’s attorney apparently has not advised him that using Twitter could get him into trouble.  Jon recently revealed on Friday through his Twitter account that he lost his bid to keep his children off television. Kate Gosselin’s attorney fired back that neither party are supposed to discuss their private affairs publicly.  Jon is still taking to Twitter and the former Jon and Kate Plus 8 star is admitting he is ashamed of himself.
So, why did Jon take to Twitter again, despite being warned not to speak publicly? He says, “This is the best way I can reach people without publicly speaking. Due to the overwhelming amount of questions, statements, false statements in the media, I would like to clarify a few things.”
Jon wrote a long note on Twitter on Tuesday morning and said, “I am acutely aware of the mistakes I made in 2009 and I am ashamed of the choices I made. I have apologized to Kate, my family, and to my friends. Through counseling I have learned to own my actions. My goal is to move forward in a positive direction.”
He discussed his bid to keep his children off television. “The negative effects on my family was my greatest concern and far outweigh any monetary gain we received. Today, my children are much older than when we first started. They are acutely aware their life is markedly different from their peers.”
Jon closed his very long tweet with the following message. “Lastly, my children have experienced a lot of life changes in a short period of time; new home, new school, parents divorced, increased media attention, and much more. Obviously it would be short-sighted to declare that all of their current struggles are attributed to one factor. These multiple changes are exactly why I feel they need privacy, stability, and security. filming and displaying their private lives at this time is not in their best interest.â€
The Gosselins are apparently continuing to work out their differences in court, although Jon and Kate seem to have different ideas about what is public and what is private.
