The Biggest Loser on NBC is back tonight with the return of an eliminated player. Then Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels get to work with teams as the game changes to blue versus black starting this week! Keep reading for all the details!
It’s that time once again as the players of NBC’s The Biggest Loser will turn into teams of blue versus black. But first Ali Sweeney starts by bringing back 5 players we watched come within inches of making it to the ranch in the season premiere. Among those players were Corey, who fell during the marathon and Anna who had lost her three year old son to cancer as well as Shanna, a cancer survivor. To earn their spot on the ranch, the player had to lose the highest percentage of body weight at home, and it was tight between Corey and Anna, but Anna beat Corey out by a few pounds.
Then the games began. Ali announced it would be turning into blue versus black and in a surprise twist it would be up to Anna to determine the teams. The blue team would be working out with Bob while the black team would be working out with Jillian and one contestant – who would not be placed on a team until elimination would have immunity instead. Anna did a pretty good job of keeping everyone happy as she placed Frado, Brendan, Ada, Elizabeth, Rick and herself on the black team, while she sent Aaron, Adam, Jesse, Jessica, Lisa and Mark to the blue team. Why on earth she left Patrick the immunity when she could have taken it herself was beyond me or anyone on the ranch and we were beginning to think that the black team, who wanted Patrick on their team would use that to their advantage and throw the weigh in.
But before they could weigh in on The Biggest Loser, they had to face an endurance challenge. For this challenge they would have to answer food related questions and every wrong answer would give them a penalty. This was all in an effort to get to the top of a 21 story building in order to receive letters from home and a supply of prepared, healthy meals for them. Both teams struggled through the questions and despite the fact that they had to go back and get Elizabeth, who was having a hard time with the stairs, the black team prevailed and won. But just as they were about to get their letters, Brendan saw how upset and distraught Lisa was that she would not get to hear from her four children that he forfeited his letters and gave them to her, as did a few other black team members.
But then it was on to the last chance workouts and weigh in and and as soon as Jillian caught wind that the black team might throw the weigh in, she immediately intervened and asked Frado not to throw the weigh in and that he should talk to everyone else. Frado agreed and gave her his word that he would not throw the weigh in and he did wind up talking to the rest of his team who also agreed not to throw it. On the blue team, they didn’t care about getting Patrick, who is a strong player, they were more determined to win. And here is how the teams fared tonight for their first team weigh in:
from 419 lbs to 407 lbs for a total loss of 12 lbs
from 346 lbs to 335 lbs for a total loss of 11 lbs
from 254 lbs to 248 lbs for a total loss of 6 lbs
from 260 lbs to 252 lbs for a total loss of 8 lbs
from 321 lbs to 305 lbs for a total loss of 16 lbs
From 361 lbs to 352 for a total loss of 9 lbs
* Total weight loss of 62 lbs (3.16%) for the blue team
from 291 lbs to 286 lbs for a total loss of 5 lbs
from 224 lbs to 215 lbs for a total loss of 9 lbs
from 297 lbs to 287 lbs for a total loss of 10 lbs
from 315 lbs to 313 lbs for a total loss of 2 lbs
from 223 lbs to 218 lbs for a total loss of 5 lbs
from 317 lbs to 308 lbs for a total loss of 9 lbs
* Total weight loss of 40 lbs (2.40 %) for the black team
from 356 lbs to 346 for a total loss of 10 lbs * had immunity
The black team had lost the weigh in on The Biggest Loser, despite the fact that they said they would not throw the weigh in, it looks like one player – Brendan just may have thrown it with his insanely low 2 pound loss. The blue team proved that they worked hard for their win and that winning Patrick was not even a thought to them. On the black team the only player safe from elimination was Ada who had the highest percentage of loss on her team.
At the elimination table, despite what most of us thought would happen, none of the girls were sent home. Instead with 3 votes, Rick was sent home as the others thought he was either a huge threat or the best candidate to keep it going at home. To date, Rick looks fantastic and has lost over 100 pounds and currently weighs in at 230 lbs. He is definitely getting the much needed support at home as his entire family is losing weight with him. I have a strong feeling will be a top contender for the at home prize on the finale!
