Big Brother: Winner Dan Gheesling Proposes To Girlfriend

October 20, 2010 03:00 PM by Allyson Wells

Big Brother10 winner Dan Gheesling scored the $500,000 grand prize when he won the show.  Now he has won a sweeter prize.  Dan recently proposed to his girlfriend and she happily accepted!

TMZ is reporting that Dan proposed to his girlfriend during a high school football game this past Saturday.  Dan is an assistant coach at St. Mary’s Prep school in Michigan.  Through his position, he was able to pull off the halftime surprise for girlfriend Chelsea, who works for the cheerleading squad.  Apparently, Dan first made his way on to the field and then had to shoo away the team mascot.  He then dropped to one knee and to a surprised Chelsea and presented her with a massive 2-carat diamond ring in front of the crowd.

After Cheslea said yes, St. Mary’s went on to win the football game.  The couple revealed to TMZ that they are planning to marry next summer, although no details have been decided yet.

In addition to coaching, Dan is also a teacher, teaching biology, physical education and health classes to freshmen.  Dan also toured the country visiting high schools as a motivational speaker.

The news of this happy engagement is in stark contrast to the negative headlines of former Big Brother winners and contestants.  Just within the past few weeks, Adam Jasinski went to jail for selling drugs.  Over the weekend, Steven Daigle was arrested for getting into a violent dispute with his ex-boyfriend at a Los Angeles during a television viewing party.
