American Idol: Paula Abdul Predicts Show Will Still Be Great

October 23, 2010 02:00 PM by Allyson Wells

If American Idol can continue without Paula Abdul, it can certainly continue without Simon Cowell.  This is according to a new prediction by Paula Abdul, who revealed her thoughts on the show, the new judges, and her new reality show, Live To Dance.

Entertainment Weekly recently caught up with the newly busy former judge and Paula revealed her thoughts on Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.  “I think that they picked seasoned veterans who know what they are talking about and are no strangers to hard work and dedication and understand this isn’t a ‘me too’ business.  It’s really about standing out on your own and being unique.  And you know, if they have half of the amazing experience that I had then they’re golden.” Her high praises for Lopez and Tyler reveal her confidence in the show and perhaps a renewed energy for the franchise.

When asked if Paula would be appearing on Simon’s American adaptation of X-Factor next year, she didn’t have a definitive answer.  “We’ll just have to see, won’t we?”  Her teasing makes it sound as if a possible American Idol judge reunion could be in the works!

We do know that we can see Paula as a judge on her new CBS show, Live to Dance.  The show will premiere in January and will feature dancers and dance groups from all ages.  Casting calls are currently going out around the nation.  Paula did not say if Simon would be appearing on her show or not with his trademark snarky barbs.  Like Paula said, we’ll just have to see.
