Project Runway star Tim Gunn is a busy boy. When he’s not “making it work” on the hit Lifetime show, he’s writing books and just being fabulous in general. Last week, he visited his hometown of Washington DC to celebrate being on the cover of the DC magazine Capital File. While there, he put some rumors to rest and even praised the former first lady!

Tim Gunn may be Heidi Klum‘s minion on Project Runway, but he is definitely making a statement in DC.

You all heard about the feud he had with fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi. Gunn was quoted in the press calling Mr. Mizrahi “a terrible, terrible, terrible person.”

When asked how they were doing now, Mr. Gunn insists there is no feud between the two any longer, but did say that they did have creative differences while working together at Liz Claiborne in the past.

In light of this, Mr. Gunn worked it on the red carpet Tuesday night at Capitol File Magazine’s 5th anniversary party where he is the latest issue’s cover boy.

On a happier note, while at the event, Tim Gunn had some kind words for Hillary Clinton. He applauded the former first lady and current Secretary of State for joining the growing list of people who have filmed public service announcements telling GLBT youth that “it gets better,” following the handful of recent teen suicides.

“Well, my hat’s off to the secretary of state,” he said. “Thank you, Mrs. Clinton. It took a lot of courage and also a lot of belief in how bad these issues are.”

Tim Gunn attempted suicide at age 17 due to bullying – so this is a very close to home campaign for him.

“What inspired me was wanting to help young people who were suffering so badly that they’d want to take their own life,” he said. “I was once one of those young people.”

It sounds like Gunn had a fantastic time in the nation’s capital, now he has to get back to NYC for the finale of Project Runway, which airs this Thursday. The three remaining designers duke in out at Lincoln Center during Fashion Week.
