Dancing With The Stars: Week Six Rock And Roll Performances!

October 25, 2010 07:16 PM by Lisa Princ

Dancing With The Stars on ABC is back tonight for the first ever rock and roll theme night. The stars will perform two dances tonight, their rock and roll routine as well as a group performance for added points and one couple will get a visit from Bret Michaels! Keep reading to find out how your favorites did!

ABC’s Dancing With The Stars kicks off tonight with the viewers’ favorite past performances. In the number one spot by the viewers was the freestyle routine to “Save a horse” performed by Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke in season two. Before performing in the group routine, the stars had to dance their solo’s first and here is how the couples fared this week:

Brandy and Maks Chmerkovskiy
Brandy and Maks were the last performance of the evening, but by far not the least. Their performance of the Tango to “I need a hero” rocked the house tonight and was by far the most intense and best routine of rock and roll night. They left me wanting more and gave Carrie Ann chills. Once again this pair topped the scoreboard as Brandy was spot on and I think Maks was every woman’s hero tonight as they ended the evening with a well deserved 26. To top it off, they got an additional 10 points for winning the dance marathon giving them a total of 36.

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke
Rick and Cheryl performed the Tango to “You really got me” and during rehearsals Rick admitted his nerves were getting the best of him and he admitted that this competition meant a lot to him. Cheryl and Rick rocked it tonight and Rick is definitely showing signs of great improvement. The judges saw this as well as this paired earned a 24 on the scoreboard this week, with an additional 6 points for a total of 30.

Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovalani
Audrina and Tony performed the Paso Doble to “Another one bites the dust” by Queen and while they came out strong in red and black and Audrina seemed to have the footwork down well, she didn’t look as though she was in character as she should have been. She did look like she had a blast though, as they both did during rehearsals. All the judges agreed on that as well and gave them a 24 on the scoreboard, with an added 8 points for a total of 32.

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough
Jennifer and Derek worked through their drama from last week during rehearsals and it worked because they definitely looked more in sync for their Paso Doble performance to Pink’s “So what”. It looked a little all over the place and Jennifer messed up her footwork at the end, but I thought it was better than last week, yet Carrie Ann warned Jennifer that she is falling back instead of moving forward. The judges gave them a measly 20 on the scoreboard this week. Luckily for this pair, they earned 9 points in the marathon bringing them up to 29.

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer
Kyle and Lacey performed the tango to Adam Lambert’s latest hit “If I had you” and it looked like Lacey was pushing him during rehearsals, and it showed. It was a huge improvement from last week as this pair rocked it with perfect movements and footwork. The judges praised their performance this week and gave them a much score this week of 23 with an additional 7 points for the group routine giving them a total of 30.

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya
Kurt and Anna performed the Paso Doble to “The final countdown” by Europe and oddly enough during their rehearsals, they got a visit from hair band superstar, and recent Celebrity Apprentice winner, Bret Michaels. Bret gave the pair some good advice and watched as Kurt danced around with a rock and roll wig on. Too bad their performance on the floor was not as entertaining – it was very sloppy and did not look like a typical performance from these two, I was very disappointed in them this week as were the judges. They earned the lowest score of the night with an 18, plus 4 for the group routine for a total of 22.

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas
Bristol was determined to show everyone this week that she could do it after last week’s awful performance. She and Mark performed the Tango to “According to you” and though she looked a little serious for me, this performance was so much better than last week, even Len told Bristol last week she was a chimp and this week she was almost a champ. After the performance Bristol admitted how much fun she was having, and the fun carried over for them as they earned a 23 on the scoreboard this week – their highest score to date and then an added 5 for the group routine giving them 28.

Finally it was time for the group dance marathon, and one by one the couple were eliminated starting with Kurt and Anna, unluckily for them. The couples earned an extra point each time they were not eliminated. Bristol and Mark were eliminated next, quickly followed by Rick and Cheryl and then Kyle and Lacey. Audrina and Tony were then eliminated leaving Jennifer and Derek along with Brandy and Maks. After being the final performance of the evening, who would have thought Brandy and Maks had it in them to win, but they beat out Jennifer and Derek earning them the winning spot and an additional ten points.

That makes Maks and Brandy the top scorers of the evening once again while Kurt and Anna are in the bottom with Bristol and Mark behind them but still 6 points ahead of them. Make sure you go vote, vote, vote so you don’t see your favorite go home! Tune in tomorrow for the live results show at 9 pm EST.
