Dog the Bounty Hunter star Duane Chapman says that he is not going to Canada to track down actor Randy Quaid or his wife Evi Quaid. However, Duane does want to sit down and talk to the Quaids.
According to Postmedia news, Chapman wants to discuss the charges against Quaid that he pulled a fast one on hotel owners with property he and his wife previously sold. “I want to hear the story. We’ve heard he’s out. It’s a good opportunity. I want to talk to him.”
The bail for Quaid and his wife was increased to $500,000 in a Santa Barbara, California court on Friday after prosecutors learned that the pair were in Canadian custody. They had been wanted for warrants for burglary, defrauding an innkeeper, and conspiracy.Â
Duane believes that something strange is going on with the pair. He says he has never heard of the term, “star whackers.” Quaid’s wife referred to this term in a note from her laywer and alleged “star whackers” were responsible for the deaths of Heath Ledger and David Carradine. Says Duane, “This is the first time I heard about it. Something is wrong here and we need to find out.”
Duane recently made headlines of his own when he survived a health scare and was treated for a blood clot. His new season of Dog the Bounty Hunter premiered in early October and will feature his 100th episode. There has been no comment from Duane or Quaid’s camp on if the two will talk. If so, let’s hope the cameras are rolling!
