The Jersey Shore finale just aired to record high ratings. The stars are finding new ways to stay busy by speaking out for a cause. While the concept seems strange, Vinny Guadagnino is using his celebrity for a good cause and speaking out against bullying.
Vinny is lending his voice to Facebook’s Network of Support and MTV’s A Thin Line. These organizations raise awareness for LGBT teens and stresses that it is never alright to bully someone because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Vinny said of bullying, “If you’ve ever seen our show you know that things can get a little wild at the Shore. But no matter how outta hand things get you’ll never see us making fun of somebody for who they are or who they choose to love, especially if they’re lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. No one should ever be made fun of, especially for being brave enough to be who they are. If there is one thing in the world that I hate on, it’s a bully.”
Vinny joins J-Woww and Snooki in using their celebrity for a good cause. J-Woww and Snooki recently spoke out on the issue of suicide prevention. Snooki also served as a spokesperson on the importance of spaying and neutering pets. Of course, some of Snooki’s charity is fulfilling her community service for her arrest.
Vinny is one of many celebrities who are speaking out against the issue of bullying and trying to raise national attention to the issue.
