The Biggest Loser: Only One Player’s Weigh In Counts

October 26, 2010 07:29 PM by Lisa Princ

The Biggest Loser on NBC is back tonight with more surprises as Ali Sweeney announces that only one player’s weigh in from each team will count this week. Of course we’ll see Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels work the teams even harder this week as a result as well. Keep reading for all the details!

NBC’s The Biggest Loser is back tonight with even more twists and turns. For starters, Ali announces that only one player’s weigh in will count this week towards which team will be up for elimination. But that’s not even the best part – the other team will actually choose which player’s weigh in will count from the opposite team and the highest percentage of loss between those two people will determine which team is up for elimination.

Nothing like riling up the contestants at the start of the show, right? In another surprise, Chef Curtis Stone shows up with another chef, Lenora Garcia to help him with a special challenge for the contestants. Six of the contestants will be cooking healthy dishes tonight with the guidance of Curtis and Lenora while the other six will sit back and taste the dishes, not knowing which team cooked which dish, they will vote for their favorite. Both teams actually did fairly well in this challenge as it ended up in a tie, leaving nothing but a dessert and a calorie guess to win. The blue team came together while the black team couldn’t agree and the blue team actually ended up winning with the closest calorie count in the dessert. For winning they would receive a 10 second head start in the endurance challenge.

The thought of who would be the one player whose weigh in was chosen for each team had Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels concerned though as they figured that they had an idea of who it would be and they decided to work those players extra hard. Bob actually advised the blue team not to choose the obvious choice in Elizabeth since she was due for a good week, while Jillian forced Elizabeth to work harder knowing that if she didn’t win the weigh in, it would be Anna who would be unfairly sent home.

For their fitness and endurance challenge on The Biggest Loser on NBC, the teams had to participate in a dragon boat race in which the blue team had a ten second head start. Although they got off track a bit and it seemed like most of the race was neck in neck, the blue team ended up winning the race. For winning this challenge, the blue team would have the opportunity to reject the black team’s first choice of who should weigh in on their team. The blue team, however decided to play it honest and did not reject the first choice, nor did they use Adam’s few pound advantage that he had been saving. The blue team chose Elizabeth despite Bob’s warning and the black team chose Jessica for their one player’s weigh in that would count this week. All of the players were weighed in regardless, so let’s see how both teams fared this week.

Blue Team

from 407 lbs to 398 lbs for a total loss of 9 lbs

from 335 lbs to 322 lbs for a total loss of 13 lbs

from 248 lbs to 244 lbs for a total loss of 4 lbs (1.61%) *black team’s chosen player

from 252 lbs to 244 lbs for a total loss of 8 lbs

from 305 lbs to 296 lbs for a total loss of 9 lbs

From 352 lbs to 336 for a total loss of 16 lbs

Black Team

from 286 lbs to 283 lbs for a total loss of 3 lbs

from 215 lbs to 211 lbs for a total loss of 4 lbs

from 313 lbs to 302 lbs for a total loss of 11 lbs

from 218 lbs to 2 lbs for a total loss of 5 lbs (2.29%) *blue team’s chosen player

from 308 lbs to 294 lbs for a total loss of 14 lbs

from 346 lbs to 337 for a total loss of 9 lbs

It looked like the blue teams refusal to use any help came back and bit them in the behinds as Jessica’s weigh in loss was not as much as Elizabeth’s, meaning the blue team would be sending someone home tonight. In another surprise twist though, the blue team could not decide on whom to send home. Half of the team wanted to send home Adam, feeling that he could continue at home, while the other half wanted to send Jessica because she blew the weigh in. Since it was a tie, it was left up to the black team to break the tie. The black team chose Adam to send home as they felt he was the biggest threat in the house – so the game play continues.

Adam however is doing great at home as he is working with the local YMCA to help people in his community lose weight as he continues his journey. To date, Adam has lost almost 140 lbs and looks like a different person as he continues to work out and has a lot of support from his brother. He hopes to be down to 220 lbs by the finale!
