Hell’s Kitchen: Casting For New Season Begins

October 31, 2010 02:00 PM by Allyson Wells

Fox Broadcasting Company has announced that they are currently conducting casting for the new season of Hell’s Kitchen, featuring Gordon Ramsay.  If you think you have what it takes to win the show and take on Gordon Ramsay’s scathing reviews, you could be just what the network is looking for!

The casting announcement states what it is looking for in a contestant. “Casting is searching for outspoken, competitive, and engaging men and women, 21 and over, with varying culinary experience. Applicants must be passionate about food and want to become the next winner of “Hell’s Kitchen.” Food lovers, experienced chefs, cooks, fast food and cafeteria workers, private chefs, weekend gourmets and caterers, are all encouraged to email.”  The show also prefers individuals with prior cooking experience.

The format of Hell’s Kitchen features two teams:  a red team and a blue team competing in various cooking challenges for most of the season.  Once the number of remaining contestants is reduced to five the two teams combine to become a single black team and compete individually.  The final challenge consists of the remaining two contestants running their own restaurants.  Gordon Ramsay has the power to override any decisions made throughout the show.

Gordon Ramsay is also appearing on another show, MasterChef.  Fox recently announced a casting call for the second season of that show.  The winner will go on to have their own cookbook published.

Hell’s Kitchen debuted in 2005 and this will be the ninth season of the show.  For more information, email hellskitchen@theconlincompany.com or call 866-226-2226.

i was wondering if you had to be a chef or just a great cook with the desire to become someone. I was a cook in the navy for a couple of years in the 70′s and i have owned a couple of skippers restaurants. I love to cook and i love excitement, and especially a challange. I can even give you a true story. I saw martha stewart on a cooking show and i watched her doing something wrong and i sent a letter to her show and they never sent me a response back. I have always wondered if being a celeb means you have special rules. cooking great food is a art, and becomeing a great cook or chef is a dream. maybe im too old..50..but i feel 25. Military does this to some. well if im not what your looking for, then let me know when the new season premire is and ill lead the march for the best to win. oh gordon…your great. sometimes you need to be strong to be a great one, but i do want to let you know that in the last episode i feel russel did great too but i feel he lost it too much by getting too angry at his help…you can be strong but you have to keep composure at bay…just an observation.
