The competition grows tougher for the mirror ball trophy as Dancing With The Stars is back tonight on ABC when the remaining five couples hit the dance floor once again. This week, the celebrities and pros will have to perform two routines, and one of them is with a crazy twist! Keep reading for all the details!
ABC’s Dancing With The Stars kicks off week eight performances tonight with two routines. The couples will be dancing to one ballroom dance routine and also to an “instant dance” in which ABC says “the couples will have to master a Latin number to music they’ve been given for the first time and after the show’s broadcast has begun.” So what will the stars be performing tonight and what do they think of this new twist? Here is what has been reported for tonight’s episode.
Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer will be dancing the Viennese Waltz for their ballroom number, but for their instant dance, they will be performing the Jive. Kyle recently told ET about the instant dance “”I think if we go out there and we just focus on the dance steps. When the music starts, if we don’t know our moves, the last thing we should be thinking about is the steps.”
Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy will be performing the Waltz for their ballroom number and while they have not revealed their instant dance, Maks is not all that happy about it. Maks tells reporters “We’re doing the waltz as our main dance and then there’s this new crazy thing where they’re going to give us the dance after the show tonight but they won’t give us the music. So we’re going to have to prepare a dance without the music and get the music next Monday during the show and…we’ll have 20 minutes to prepare our dance.”
Kurt Warner & Anna Trebunskaya are being reported to perform either the Cha Cha or the Samba and Kurt seems unsure about the instant dance as he told TV Guide “I don’t really understand why. It’s hard enough to learn two dances – well, it’s hard learning one – but to learn two different kinds and to throw this wrench into it, I don’t understand the purpose. For me, it’s so hard to hear the music because I’ve never done that before. Maybe it’ll be an advantage because I don’t hear the music anyway, or maybe it’s going to be harder since I usually pick up some of the timing by hearing music during the week. I’m just kind of dumbfounded of what the purpose is.”
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough are set to perform the Quickstep tonight, but they are unsure of their instant dance at this point. We do know however, that this pair plans on stepping up their performance this week.
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas are set to perform the Argentine Tango for their ballroom routine and the Samba for their instant dance which is difficult enough when you do know the music.
Be sure to tune in tonight to Dancing With The Stars on ABC at 8 pm EST as the remaining five celebrities and professionals take the stage once again! Who are you routing for? Comment and share your thoughts with us!
