After six successful seasons of the ABC reality show, The Supernanny (the show’s seventh season debuted on November 5th), the star of the show, Jo Frost, has announced that she is ready to move on.
“I have decided to hang up my cape,” Frost tells the New York Post in an interview. “It was a very conscious decision through much reflection. But I need to create more balance in my life.”
So why is Jo ending the show after all these years?
Frost has said that she’s ready to start dating (gasp!) and has hopes of finally starting a family of her own!
“Proper balance will allow me to date and have a relationship and look at my own future of having a family. I am definitely excited about dating and being in a committed relationship,” says Frost, adding, “That is all exciting stuff for me around the corner.”
But don’t worry, with several books and an international franchise to look after, Jo won’t be disappearing altogether, and she even hints that there’s a possibility she’ll bring her popular UK series, Extreme Parental Guidance, to the United States. “I will certainly not be giving up what my public service is to America and the world. … I don’t think you will be seeing less of me. I just think it will be a different way that you see me.”
