American Idol: Show Nominated For 2011 People’s Choice Award

The nominees for the 2011 People’s Choice Awards were just announced, and among the finalists for the category of “Favorite Competition Show” was Fox’s American Idol. What other reality shows made the list? We’ve got all the details!
The 37th Annual People’s Choice Awards will be held on January 5th at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. And with the nominees having been announced yesterday in West Hollywood, it’s time for the voting to begin!
Of the nominees for 2011, Fox’s American Idol is in the running for “Favorite Competition Show,” but it’s not the only reality show up for an award that night. In the same category, American Idol will be going head-to-head with America’s Got Talent, Dancing With The Stars, Hell’s Kitchen, and So You Think You Can Dance.
The other reality themed category in the PCAs is “Favorite TV Guilty Pleasure,” and the finalists are: Jersey Shore, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and Tosh.O.
Unlike the Oscars and other award shows, The People’s Choice Awards are voted on by–well, the people. Fans can cast a vote for their favorite in each of the 44 categories by visiting www.PeoplesChoice.com. Voting for 42 of the categories will last from November 9th until December 7th. For “Favorite New Drama” and “Favorite New TV Comedy,” fans will be able to keep voting until the night of the show.
The People’s Choice Awards will air LIVE on CBS January 5th, and will be hosted again by Queen Latifah.
