After spending the first six months of her life in the hospital with a life-threatening illness, the 19th Duggar child, Josie, is doing well. Keep reading for the latest on the Duggar family of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting.
Just a few hours after news broke that another Duggar baby is on the way, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting announced that their daughter, Josie, is healthy and doing well.
“She’s laughing, playing and drooling on everything,” proud mother, Michelle Duggar reports.
Josie, who was born via emergency C-section on December 10, 2009 at just 25 weeks, weighed only 1 lb., 6 oz. Now, the 19th Duggar child is 11 months old and tipping the scales at 15 lbs.!
“We see the hand of God and the answer to all our prayers in how well she’s doing,” says Jim Bob.
Josie still needs to be on oxygen while sleeping at night, but otherwise, she’s developing normally and “sailed through her last check-up,” shares Michelle, who despite having 19 kids of her own, still manages to find time to be a loving grandmother.
“I thought with so many children, and everything she’s going through with Josie, she wouldn’t have a lot of time,” says Anna Duggar, Michelle’s daughter-in-law. “But she is an amazing grandma and it is so cute to see her be a mom to the older children, little children and a grandma, too.”
Anna and Josh Duggar recently announced that they are expecting their second child in June of 2011.
“Mackynzie was going to be really spoiled being the only grandchild,” Anna says, “so it’s great there’s another one on the way.”
