The always-dramatic political battle between Democrats and Republicans has spilled from the ballot box into the entertainment realm.  It turns out what you are watching on television may actually represent which political group you are more likely to be affiliated with.  Reality television, including Survivor, dominates one side of the political spectrum.  Which side do you think is more loyal when it comes to watching castaways outwit, outplay and outlast on Survivor?  Democrats or Republicans?  Read on to find out…

Yahoo! TV reports a recent study by Experian Simmons, a media-research company, shows more Republicans watch Survivor than Democrats.  In fact, Survivor came in 8th place for Republicans in popular television shows placing behind two other reality hits — American Idol (4th place) and The Amazing Race (2nd place).  The study also reveals more Republicans are dedicated to Dancing With The Stars (9th place) and The Bachelor (12th place).

Just one reality show stood strong in the top 15 for Democrats — Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami came in 4th place.  Most of the other shows Democrats favor, according to the study, are scripted programs like Mad Men, Dexter, 90210 and 30 Rock.

The study was compiled from data collected throughout several months.

This doesn’t mean Democrats dislike reality television and Republicans salivate over them — right?

What do you think?  Do you agree with the study?  Are you politically aligned with the right television shows or is this study way off for you?
