Survivor: Nicaragua — Day From Hell

November 16, 2010 10:00 AM by Ryan Haidet

As last week’s episode of Survivor: Nicaragua came to an end, a very compelling promo teased viewers with some sort of devastating event within the Libertad tribe.  The short 30 seconds showcased the tribe walking toward something with stunned, emotional reactions.  Holly has her hands on her face as she fights back tears.  “Words can’t explain.  I don’t know what to say,” Holly says.  “Oh my God you guys, I’m gonna cry.”  Then we see Benry in a confessional with a big frown saying, “This is the day from Hell.”  What is all the drama and shock about in the upcoming episode this Wednesday night?  We’ve got the details.  Read on to find out…

The sadness in the upcoming episode reflects back to something that happened to the Jacare tribe in Survivor: The Amazon several years ago.  According to a press release, the Libertad tribe suffers a devastating blow when they find their camp in ashes after a fire.  This brings an interesting irony to the symbolism of fire in Survivor.  Fire is essential to staying alive, but brutal when it gets out of control.

Despite the sadness connected to the fire, the game continues as it’s also teased that two unlikely castaways team up in attempt to make a powerful move.  This new strategic dynamic reportedly tests the loyalty of a strong-standing alliance that is already in place.

10 contestants remain in the battle for $1 million.  Who do you think will win?
