The Biggest Loser: Back To Singles And Videos From Home

November 16, 2010 08:15 PM by Lisa Princ

The Biggest Loser on NBC is back tonight and the remaining eight contestants are going back to singles as there will be no more teams. They will also get to see emotional videos from home, but what happens when one contestant doesn’t receive any? And what exactly has Bob Harper so annoyed tonight? Keep reading for all the details!

NBC’s The Biggest Loser kicks off this week as Ali Sweeney announces that the remaining eight contestants will going back to singles this week, no more pairs or black versus blue. Then they head off to the gym whereBob Harper and Jillian Michaels announce they will be getting videos from home, but Bob then takes Ada outside to tell her that despite their best efforts to contact her family, there was no response and no videos sent in from them. Ada fills Bob in that she does not have the most supportive family as she tries to hold it together but you can see the disappointment in her face.

Before working out though, Bob Harper immediately notices that both Aaron and Jesse are missing and questions the other contestants. Brendan lets him know that Aaron and Jesse were eliminated at the last weigh in as both he and Patrick as well as Frado and Mark voted for them to go home. Needless to say, Bob did not take the news well and was pissed to say the least. He confronted the contestants about how much Aaron and Jesse needed to be there and that neither Elizabeth nor Lisa was taking anything seriously. Still frustrated, Bob took Patrick outside to find out what happened since he and Jesse were so close and Patrick admitted that he did it for himself by getting rid of the biggest threats – he tried to justify it by claiming that putting everyone else first got him where he was to begin with, but Bob made sure he felt bad by filling him in that he could have won with the tough competition.

Then it was time for the videos from home on The Biggest Loser and it was amazing to see how supportive these families were. Some of the family members were actually working out and getting healthy at home. Patrick watched as his wife showed off her weight loss on the video as did Elizabeth’s mom, who also showed Elizabeth how healthy she was eating at home. The contestants knew however that since Ada was missing, that she did not get a video from home, so they all decided to make one for her. They called Ada in and told her they had a surprise for her and she was almost in tears watching as each one of the contestants had left an inspirational message in this video for her letting her know they were her family as well.

Then it was time to head back to the gym for more workouts with Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels. This time around Jillian was the irate trainer as she immediately put the contestants to work, but more so Elizabeth, who she felt has been sliding by the past few weeks. After their workout, it was time for their endurance challenge. For this challenge, each contestant would have to balance themselves on one foot on a beam over a pool. The winner would get a one pound advantage at the weigh in. If they fell off, they were out and one by one the men seemed to fall off and then the ladies did. It came down to Ada, Mark and Lisa and with Mark and Lisa going at it, Lisa fell off leaving Mark and Ada. Ada eventually fell off though, giving Mark the win and the one pound advantage at the weigh in.

Next up on The Biggest Loser, the contestants were asked to build a healthy sandwich by Jillian Michaels, with the lowest calorie sandwich winner getting a $500 Subway gift card in which Lisa ended up winning with a 250 calorie sandwich. Then it was time for the last chance workout with Bob and Jillian, and Bob seemed to focus on Elizabeth just like Jillian did earlier as they felt Elizabeth was not pulling her own. The contestants worked very hard at their last chance workout and then it was time for the weigh in. Here is how the contestants did at the weigh in this week:

from 228 lbs to 227 lbs for a total loss of 1 lbs (.44%)

from 234 lbs to 228 lbs for a total loss of 6 lbs (2.56%)

From 317 lbs to 309 for a total loss of 8 lbs (2.84%) * had a one pound advantage

from 198 lbs to 190 lbs for a total loss of 8 lbs (4.04%)

from 280 lbs to 272 lbs for a total loss of 8 lbs (2.86%)
from 205 lbs to 201 lbs for a total loss of 4 lbs (1.95%)

from 276 lbs to 267 lbs for a total gain of 9 lbs (3.26%)

from 311 lbs to 301 for a total loss of 10 lbs (3.22%)

Ada ended up with the highest percentage of loss this week despite her emotional week. However this meant that Elizabeth and Jessica ended up below the yellow line. Jessica was very emotional since she lost her dear friend Jesse last week. In the elimination room, it was not surprising that no one would vote for Elizabeth since she needs to be carried through everything. So once again Elizabeth gets a free pass as the first three votes for Jessica were enough to send her home. Don’t feel bad for Jessica though as she has lost a total of more than 80 lbs to date and is down to 200 lbs. We look forward to seeing you at the finale Jessica!
