The Bachelorette: It’s a Girl for Jen Schefft!

November 17, 2010 01:00 PM by Shayla Perry

Jen Schefft of ABC’s The Bachelorette and husband, Joe Waterman, just welcomed a baby girl! Keep reading for all the latest on the happy family!

New parents, Jen Schefft and Joe Waterman welcomed their daughter, Mae Elizabeth Waterman, to the world on Saturday, November 13th.

“She was 7-pounds even at 20 inches,” an elated Schefft told UsMagazine. “She and her mommy are home now and doing great!”

Baby Mae came home to an Alice in Wonderland themed nursery, complete with shabby-chic decor, “stenciled flowers, a teapot on the table and even the lights are colored with moss,” Schefft shared. “It’s the nicest room in the house!”

The 34-year-old Schefft was very excited when she first found out that she was pregnant, but admits that she was a little shocked. “I thought it would take more time,” said Jen. “I took three tests because I didn’t believe it was true!”

When the couple announced their pregnancy, they wanted to keep the sex of the baby a secret, but Schefft had a special feeling early on, saying, “I don’t know why, but I feel like it’s going to be a girl.” The couple got the official news in June.

Jen Schefft was on the third season of ABC’s The Bachelor, and won the final rose and a proposal from Andrew Firestone. The two dated briefly, but ended their relationship months later, and Schefft returned to reality TV as The Bachelorette in 2005.

Schefft met Waterman on a blind date in 2008, and the couple wed in May of 2009.
