According to a source, Kate Gosselin’s TLC reality show Twist of Kate has been cancelled by the network, telling Life & Style magazine , “It’s no longer on the schedule because Kate can’t bring in the ratings.”
But despite rumors, TLC reps say, “Neither show has been cancelled! In fact, the next Kate Plus 8 special airs November 28.” What the rep didn’t mention was the next time we’d see Twist of Kate in the line-up.
Since Kate’s ex-husband, Jon Gosselin has left the show, the ratings have taken a nose-dive. Network execs had high hopes for the Goosselin’s trip to Alaska to give the show a bit of a boost, but the episode only brought in 1.3 million viewers–the lowest ever for the show.
Some critics of the Gosselin’s shows argue that TLC should do the family a favor and just pull them off the air, especially since two of Jon and Kate’s eight children are reported to have been expelled from school due to bad behavior. And days after news broke that the two children are now being homeschooled, a source close to the family revealed to UsMagazine that Kate punishes the children for not finishing their school lunches, saying that, “she repacks it for them in the next day’s lunch.”
It’s the children’s school’s policy to send any uneaten food home with the students each day, but the source reveals, “The kids are stubborn, so sometimes the little kids have the same half-eaten sandwich in their lunch all week,” adding, “Some of the little ones cry, and some get angry and fight.”
With Kate’s parenting in question again–but this time with faltering ratings–will TLC finally pull the plug on the Gosselin crew?
