The finale will feature the last three remaining teams, as they battle in one final leg for the $1 million grand prize during the season finale. CBS reports that this latest installment of The Amazing Race has increased in ratings in comparison to last fall’s edition, averaging 11.71 million viewers (+3%), 4.7 in adults 25-54 (+7%) and 3.7 in adults 18-49 (+3%).
This season of The Amazing Race is down to five teams, as father and daughter Gary and Mallory were the latest to be eliminated. Of the five remaining teams, three are romantically involved and two are all-female teams. There has never been an all-female team to win the Amazing Race. This season also featured the game-changing express pass. Jill and Thomas won the express pass and were able to use it and bypass a road block when they were falling behind on a leg of the race.Â
It has been an interesting season of The Amazing Race so far, as many of the teams had interesting back stories. Andie and Jenna were a recently reunited mother and daughter team, as Andie gave Jenna up for adoption when she was a baby. Connor and Jonathan were Ivy League graduates who missed their college graduation to appear on the show. Chad and Stephanie, who were romantically involved before the show started, got engaged while on a leg of the race in the Middle East. Based on the previous legs and all that has gone down with the racers, the season finale should be exciting!
