Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez of ABC’s The Bachelorette are putting their wedding plans on hold for a while, but don’t worry, that doesn’t mean the couple’s having problems. Actually, it’s quite the opposite. Keep reading to find out why they’ve decided to take things slow and what they’re planning for their first holiday together.
Ali and Roberto, who met and fell in love on ABC’s reality show, The Bachelorette, have decided to hold off on the wedding plans for a while, but it’s not for the reasons that you might think…
“When we first ended the show, I was like, ‘It’s gonna be so easy. We’ll get married in the spring. Everything will be so simple,’” Ali explained to E!Online’s Cristina Gibson at the Hollywood Bag Ladies’ luncheon for Lupus in Los Angeles.
But the reality star admitted that once all the cameras stopped rolling, and the couple ended their whirlwind media tour following the show’s finale, reality finlly hit, which meant that Ali needed to start focusing on finding a career.
“He’s opening up his [insurance] agency and I’m trying to figure out what I’m going to do long-term, because yeah, I work at Fox, but I only work here sometimes one day a week,” said Ali. “So right now, I’m trying to figure out my own path and until we have a stable foundation, we don’t really wanna rush into that.”
Right now, Ali says that the couple is content just enjoying their engagement and taking things slow. “We feel like we want to have the courtship period. As soon as we get married, it’ll be like, ‘When are you having babies?’ When we have babies, it’ll be like, ‘When are you gonna have another one?’ So we just want to enjoy every moment.”
Sounds like a reasonable plan.
As for the couple’s first Thanksgiving together, they’re still not sure where they’ll be spending the holiday, but Ali says she definitely will not be cooking.
“I don’t think we’ll be staying home because in that case, he’d be stuck with my cooking and that’d be terrible for him. He really wants to go home to Tampa, so we’re gonna really try,” says Ali.
